dot-forward software package provides reads sendmails .forward files under qmail, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dot-forward
dot-forward is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dot-forward package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dot-forward *
You will get with dot-forward package name, version, architecture and description in a table
