dialog software package provides Displays user-friendly dialog boxes from shell scripts, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dialog
dialog is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dialog package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dialog *
You will get with dialog package name, version, architecture and description in a table
