denef software package provides Decode Nikon D1 NEF image files, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install denef
denef is installed in your system.
Make ensure the denef package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep denef *
You will get with denef package name, version, architecture and description in a table
