cups-backend-bjnp software package provides printer backend for Canon BJNP protocol, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cups-backend-bjnp
cups-backend-bjnp is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cups-backend-bjnp package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cups-backend-bjnp *
You will get with cups-backend-bjnp package name, version, architecture and description in a table
