cup software package provides LALR parser generator for Java(tm), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cup
cup is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cup package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cup *
You will get with cup package name, version, architecture and description in a table
