cpufreqd software package provides fully configurable daemon for dynamic frequency and voltage scaling, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cpufreqd
cpufreqd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cpufreqd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cpufreqd *
You will get with cpufreqd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
