cnee software package provides X event recorder/replayer - command-line flavor, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cnee
cnee is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cnee package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cnee *
You will get with cnee package name, version, architecture and description in a table
