alot software package provides Text mode MUA using notmuch mail, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install alot
alot is installed in your system.
Make ensure the alot package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep alot *
You will get with alot package name, version, architecture and description in a table
