ruby-build software package provides tool to compile and install different versions of Ruby, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ruby-build
ruby-build is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ruby-build package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ruby-build *
You will get with ruby-build package name, version, architecture and description in a table
