recoverdm software package provides recover files/disks with damaged sectors, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install recoverdm
recoverdm is installed in your system.
Make ensure the recoverdm package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep recoverdm *
You will get with recoverdm package name, version, architecture and description in a table
