How to Install rar software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

rar software package provides Archiver for .rar files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install rar

rar is installed in your system.

Make ensure the rar package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep rar *

You will get with rar package name, version, architecture and description in a table
