r-base-core-dbg software package provides GNU R debug symbols for statistical comp. language and environment, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install r-base-core-dbg
r-base-core-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the r-base-core-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep r-base-core-dbg *
You will get with r-base-core-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
