qtsmbstatus-light software package provides GUI (graphical user interface) for smbstatus, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install qtsmbstatus-light
qtsmbstatus-light is installed in your system.
Make ensure the qtsmbstatus-light package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep qtsmbstatus-light *
You will get with qtsmbstatus-light package name, version, architecture and description in a table
