qgis-sqlanywhere software package provides QGIS sql anywhere plugin and provider, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install qgis-sqlanywhere
qgis-sqlanywhere is installed in your system.
Make ensure the qgis-sqlanywhere package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep qgis-sqlanywhere *
You will get with qgis-sqlanywhere package name, version, architecture and description in a table
