python3-xlrd software package provides extract data from Microsoft Excel spreadsheet files (Python3 version), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python3-xlrd
python3-xlrd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python3-xlrd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python3-xlrd *
You will get with python3-xlrd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
