python3-gdal software package provides Python 3 bindings to the Geospatial Data Abstraction Library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python3-gdal
python3-gdal is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python3-gdal package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python3-gdal *
You will get with python3-gdal package name, version, architecture and description in a table
