python2.7-minimal software package provides Minimal subset of the Python language (version 2.7), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python2.7-minimal
python2.7-minimal is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python2.7-minimal package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python2.7-minimal *
You will get with python2.7-minimal package name, version, architecture and description in a table
