python-sparse software package provides Sparse linear algebra extension for Python, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-sparse
python-sparse is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-sparse package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-sparse *
You will get with python-sparse package name, version, architecture and description in a table
