python-snappy software package provides Python library for the snappy compression library from Google, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-snappy
python-snappy is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-snappy package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-snappy *
You will get with python-snappy package name, version, architecture and description in a table
