python-shortuuid software package provides generates concise, unambiguous, URL-safe UUIDs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-shortuuid
python-shortuuid is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-shortuuid package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-shortuuid *
You will get with python-shortuuid package name, version, architecture and description in a table
