python-setuptools software package provides Python Distutils Enhancements (setuptools compatibility), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-setuptools
python-setuptools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-setuptools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-setuptools *
You will get with python-setuptools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
