python-power software package provides Python module to get get power and battery status, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-power
python-power is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-power package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-power *
You will get with python-power package name, version, architecture and description in a table
