python-nids software package provides Python binding for libnids (aka pynids), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-nids
python-nids is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-nids package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-nids *
You will get with python-nids package name, version, architecture and description in a table
