python-newt software package provides NEWT module for Python, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-newt
python-newt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-newt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-newt *
You will get with python-newt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
