python-mpi4py software package provides bindings of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) standard, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-mpi4py
python-mpi4py is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-mpi4py package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-mpi4py *
You will get with python-mpi4py package name, version, architecture and description in a table
