python-magic software package provides File type determination library using magic numbers (Python bindings), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-magic
python-magic is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-magic package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-magic *
You will get with python-magic package name, version, architecture and description in a table
