python-libtiff software package provides wrapper to the libtiff library to Python using ctypes, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-libtiff
python-libtiff is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-libtiff package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-libtiff *
You will get with python-libtiff package name, version, architecture and description in a table
