python-ieee1284 software package provides Python bindings to libieee1284, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-ieee1284
python-ieee1284 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-ieee1284 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-ieee1284 *
You will get with python-ieee1284 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
