python-gd software package provides Python module wrapper for libgd, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-gd
python-gd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-gd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-gd *
You will get with python-gd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
