python-exif software package provides Python library to extract EXIF data from tiff and jpeg files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-exif
python-exif is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-exif package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-exif *
You will get with python-exif package name, version, architecture and description in a table
