python-dput software package provides next generation Debian package upload tool (Python library), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-dput
python-dput is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-dput package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-dput *
You will get with python-dput package name, version, architecture and description in a table
