python-avahi software package provides Python utility package for Avahi, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-avahi
python-avahi is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-avahi package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-avahi *
You will get with python-avahi package name, version, architecture and description in a table
