python-appdirs software package provides determining appropriate platform-specific directories (Python 2), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-appdirs
python-appdirs is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-appdirs package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-appdirs *
You will get with python-appdirs package name, version, architecture and description in a table
