How to Install protobuf-compiler software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

protobuf-compiler software package provides compiler for protocol buffer definition files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install protobuf-compiler

protobuf-compiler is installed in your system.

Make ensure the protobuf-compiler package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep protobuf-compiler *

You will get with protobuf-compiler package name, version, architecture and description in a table
