powerd software package provides Power daemon to monitor and control system and display power state, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install powerd
powerd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the powerd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep powerd *
You will get with powerd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
