How to Install postgresql software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

postgresql software package provides object-relational SQL database (supported version), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install postgresql

postgresql is installed in your system.

Make ensure the postgresql package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep postgresql *

You will get with postgresql package name, version, architecture and description in a table
