postgres-xc software package provides write-scalable, synchronous multi-master, transparent PostgreSQL cluster, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install postgres-xc
postgres-xc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the postgres-xc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep postgres-xc *
You will get with postgres-xc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
