policykit-1 software package provides framework for managing administrative policies and privileges, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install policykit-1
policykit-1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the policykit-1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep policykit-1 *
You will get with policykit-1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
