plymouth-x11 software package provides graphical boot animation and logger - X11 interface, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install plymouth-x11
plymouth-x11 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the plymouth-x11 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep plymouth-x11 *
You will get with plymouth-x11 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
