petri-foo software package provides MIDI controllable audio sampler - successor of specimen, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install petri-foo
petri-foo is installed in your system.
Make ensure the petri-foo package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep petri-foo *
You will get with petri-foo package name, version, architecture and description in a table
