perlbrew software package provides script to manage perl installations in your $HOME, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install perlbrew
perlbrew is installed in your system.
Make ensure the perlbrew package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep perlbrew *
You will get with perlbrew package name, version, architecture and description in a table
