pdns-recursor software package provides PowerDNS recursor, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pdns-recursor
pdns-recursor is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pdns-recursor package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pdns-recursor *
You will get with pdns-recursor package name, version, architecture and description in a table
