pbbuttonsd software package provides PBButtons daemon to handle special hotkeys of Apple computers, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pbbuttonsd
pbbuttonsd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pbbuttonsd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pbbuttonsd *
You will get with pbbuttonsd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
