patcher software package provides perl script useful for managing patches, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install patcher
patcher is installed in your system.
Make ensure the patcher package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep patcher *
You will get with patcher package name, version, architecture and description in a table
