partimage software package provides backup partitions into a compressed image file, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install partimage
partimage is installed in your system.
Make ensure the partimage package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep partimage *
You will get with partimage package name, version, architecture and description in a table
