par2 software package provides Parity Archive Volume Set, for checking and repair of files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install par2
par2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the par2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep par2 *
You will get with par2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
