owfs-common software package provides common files used by any of the OWFS programs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install owfs-common
owfs-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the owfs-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep owfs-common *
You will get with owfs-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
