How to Install osm2pgsql software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

osm2pgsql software package provides OpenStreetMap data to PostgreSQL converter, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install osm2pgsql

osm2pgsql is installed in your system.

Make ensure the osm2pgsql package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep osm2pgsql *

You will get with osm2pgsql package name, version, architecture and description in a table
