osdsh software package provides Overlays your screen with various system information, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install osdsh
osdsh is installed in your system.
Make ensure the osdsh package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep osdsh *
You will get with osdsh package name, version, architecture and description in a table
