original-awk software package provides The original awk described in The AWK Programming Language, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install original-awk
original-awk is installed in your system.
Make ensure the original-awk package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep original-awk *
You will get with original-awk package name, version, architecture and description in a table
